☾ When burning your candle for the first time, please allow for the wax to melt evenly across the entire diameter to the sides of the jar. This helps to prevent “tunnelling” of the wax, which can impact how well the candle burns.
☾ You can extinguish your flame by using a candle snuffer or by gently blowing on it from a distance safe from any wax splatter.
Please do not use the lid of your candle and never use water to extinguish the flame.
☾ Always trim your wick to 6mm before each use, removing all charred wood from previous burns. This is important for both safety and practicality, as long charred wicks may not stay lit long enough to fuel the flame, causing it to extinguish itself.
You can trim a wooden wick by simply pinching off any black, charred wood by hand by using a wick trimmer.
Please ensure you wait until the candle has completely cooled and reset (solidified) prior to trimming the wick. This is to prevent injury as well as prevent any debris from getting trapped in the wax.
☾ Always ensure your candle jar is clean and free from any debris and/or combustible matter prior to lighting the flame, including wick trimmings.
☾ Never burn your candle all the way to the bottom of the jar or tin. Please discontinue use when there is 10mm of wax left. This remaining wax protects the glass from getting too hot and possibly cracking or exploding.
☾ Never touch or move a burning candle or container when the wax is liquid.
☾ Always burn your candle within sight and do not leave unattended. When extinguishing the candle, please ensure the wick ember is no longer glowing prior to leaving the room.
☾ Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
☾ Burn candles on a stable, heat-resistant candle holder. Please keep burning candles away from anything flammable including furniture, curtains, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flowers etc.
☾ Keep burning candles away from draughts, vents, ceiling fans, air-conditioners and air-currents.
☾ Always burn candles in well-ventilated rooms.
☾ If candle repeatedly smokes, flickers or the flame becomes too high, please safely extinguish the candle. Allow the candle to fully cool, trim the wick and check for possible draughts before relighting.
